Advanced Agile Methods for
Project Managers
Overview
The early Agile Frameworks such as Scrum, Extreme Programming, and Kanban have evolved as a response to the need to address dynamic customer demands, the desire to reduce system development risks and the pressure for shortening schedules. These frameworks fit a small group of employees who incrementally develop a product, using an iterative process that includes planning, execution, and lessons learning. This process enables the rapid release of products, while constantly improving and responding quickly and flexibly to market demands.
Frameworks such as SAFE®, LeSS, Nexus have adopted and adapted the principles and rules of the early agile frameworks (mainly Scrum) for large organizations that develop large systems and product lines. The various frameworks are based on system and business thinking, organizational development and empowerment of employees. These frameworks adopted effective and simple methods and tools for:
-
Work planning
-
Estimation of the effort required to perform the tasks
-
Prioritizing tasks
-
Monitoring and measurement
-
Lessons learning
-
Decision Making
These tools and methods help managers and staff provide value to customers in a very short time while maximizing resource utilization. While these tools are applicable to agile environments they can be implemented
The goal
Introduce the methods and how they are implemented so that managers and team leaders can easily implement the tools in their work environment and enable them to lead their teams and meeting goals on time and with high quality.
